After much tournament and  exhibition bowling during the fifties, Joe wanted to spend more time  with family.  The decision was made to move to Columbus, Ohio; wife June's home and avid bowling town.  In late 1962 he opened the Bowler's Pro Shop at its original location on Oakland Park Ave.  Joe always believed that a well fit bowling ball was key for improving one's game at any level.  A practice stub-lane was installed 6 months later where everyone could try their bowling ball free of charge.  That tradition continues today at the new location on Indianola Ave.
